Classroom Tour

Welcome to our classroom. Come on in and take a look around! You can even check out some
of our Literacy Work Stations. We work very hard in Kindergarten and while some pictures
may look like play, we are actually learning quite a lot. Remember, children learn best when
they are actively engaged. This promotes independence, helps students become more
responsible, and allows them to learn through self-discovery. Happy exploring!

Welcome to Room 111!

Our circle time/morning meeting/and other share times take place at "the carpet."

We love our classroom library!

Environmental print and various sight words coming soon! We will add to our word wall and use it as a writing reference throughout the school year.

Meet Buck & Sharkbait Hoo Ha Ha, our classroom fish.

Homeliving is one of our favorite centers to play in!

Literacy Work Stations
We visit Literacy Work Stations, daily. Each week, our stations change and the task our
teacher wants us to complete changes. This is a great opportunity for us to test what we
know and become better readers and writers. We visit different stations such as:
Listening, Library, Tongue Twisters, Punch Prints, Poetry, Stamping, Big Books,
White boards, Magnets, Writing/Wordwork, Overhead, and Computers. There is always
a "have to" activity we are supposed to complete and then a "fun" activity we get to do,
afterwards. Here is just a glimpse of what we do everyday. We are hard workers!

All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten
by Robert Fulghum

Most of what I really need
To know about how to live
And what to do and how to be
I learned in kindergarten.
Wisdom was not at the top
Of the graduate school mountain,
But there in the sand pile at Sunday school.

These are the things I learned:

Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life -
Learn some and think some
And draw and paint and sing and dance
And play and work everyday some.
Take a nap every afternoon.
When you go out into the world,
Watch out for traffic,
Hold hands and stick together.
Be aware of wonder.
